Saturday (9/26): "They were
astonished at the majesty of God"
Scripture: Luke 9:43-45
43 And all were astonished at the majesty of God. But while they were
all marveling at everything he did, he said to his disciples, 44 "Let
these words sink into your ears; for the Son of man is to be delivered
into the hands of men." 45 But they did not understand this saying, and
it was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it; and they
were afraid to ask him about this saying.
Meditation: Do you know the majesty of God? When we ascribe
majesty to someone or something, we acknowledge greatness in that person
or thing, and voice our respect for it. The miracles of Jesus revealed
the majesty of God and displayed his grace and favor, especially towards
the lowly and humble of heart. But with the miracles Jesus also gave a
prophetic warning: There can be no share in God's glory without the
cross. Jesus prophesied his own betrayal and crucifixion. But it did
not make any sense to the disciples because it did not fit their
understanding of the Messiah who was supposed to come and free his
people from tyranny and oppression. Little did they know that the way to
victory over sin and death would be through the cross and resurrection
of Christ.
When the disciples heard Jesus' prediction of suffering and betrayal
they were afraid to ask further questions. Like a person who might
receive some bad news from the doctor about some tumor or disease that
could destroy them and then refuse to ask any further questions, the
disciples of Jesus didn't want to know any more about the consequences
of possible suffering, defeat, and death on a cross. They couldn't
understand how the cross could bring victory and lead to new life and
freedom in Christ. How often do we reject what we do not wish to see? We
have heard God's word and we know the consequences of accepting it or
rejecting it. But do we give it our full allegiance and mold our lives
according to it? Ask the Lord Jesus to show you his majesty that you may
grow in reverence of him and in godly fear of his word.
"Lord Jesus, by your cross you have redeemed the world and revealed
your glory and triumph over sin and death. May I never fail to see your
glory and victory in the cross. Help me to conform my life to your will
and to follow in your way of love and holiness."
Psalm 90:3-6,12-14,17
3 Thou turnest man back to the dust, and sayest, "Turn back, O
children of men!"
4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is
past, or as a watch in the night.
5 Thou dost sweep men away; they are like a dream, like grass which is

Spokesman Repeats: Pope Unaware of Holocaust Denial
No Reason to Re-open Issue, Says Father Lombardi
VATICAN CITY, SEPT. 24, 2009 ( Zenit.org).- A Vatican spokesman is repeating again that Benedict XVI lifted the excommunication of Society of St. Pius X Bishop Richard Williamson without being aware the traditionalist bishop is a Holocaust denier. Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press office, saw the need to restate again Wednesday that the Pope was not informed of the bishop's position when the excommunication was lifted in January.
The spokesman was addressing a Swedish TV report that denied the Vatican's affirmations.
"There are no grounds to assert or even insinuate that the Pope was informed earlier of Williamson's positions, " Father Lombardi stated. "This was clearly denied in the Feb. 4 note from the [Vatican] Secretariat of State, which also expresses in the clearest way the Pope's and the Catholic Church's radical opposition to any anti-Semitic position or negation [of the Holocaust].
"Moreover, the Pope's letter to bishops of last March 10 closed this question; hence, there is no reason to re-open it."
The spokesman pointed to the Holy Father's explanation that the remission of the excommunication was "a gesture to foster the unity of the Church."
And, Father Lombardi added, accusations the that Pope lacks respect for Jews are "utterly unfounded."
The Jesuit further noted: "The Pope has also acknowledged with simplicity the limits of Vatican communication, internal and external, and has established a new statute for the Ecclesia Dei Commission, precisely to guarantee a safer and better way of proceeding on issues relating to relations with the traditionalists.
According to Father Lombardi, therefore, "to re-launch the Williamson case can only serve to create confusion for no reason."

WORDS OF THE QUEEN.
My daughter, as thy soul has been furnished with
gifts of enlightenment, I call and invite thee anew to cast thyself into
the sea of mysteries contained in the passion and death of my divine
Son. Direct all thy faculties and strain all the powers of thy heart and
soul, to make thyself at least somewhat worthy of understanding and
meditating upon the ignominies and sorrows of the Son of the eternal
Father in his death on the Cross for the salvation of men; and also of
considering my doings and sufferings in connection with his bitterest
Passion. This science, so much neglected by men, I desire that thou, my
daughter, study and learn, so as to be able follow thy Spouse and
imitate me, who am thy Mother and Teacher. Writing down and feeling
deeply all that I shall teach thee of these mysteries, thou shouldst
detach thyself entirely of human and earthly affections and of thy own
self, so as freely to follow our footsteps in destitution and poverty.
I wish thee also to ponder, what a horrible crime it
is in the eyes of the Lord, in mine, and in those of all the saints,
that men should despise and neglect the frequent reception of the holy
Communion, and that they should approach it without preparation and
fervent devotion. Principally in order that thou mayest understand and
record this warning, I have manifested thee, what I did on that occasion
and how I prepared myself so many years for receiving my most blessed
Son in the holy Sacrament and also the rest, which thou art yet to write
for the instruction and confusion of men. For if I, who was innocent of
any hindering sin and filled with all graces, sought to increase my
fitness for this favor by such fervent acts of love, humility and
gratitude, consider what efforts thou and the other children of the
Church, who every day and hour incur new guilt and blame, must make in
order to fit yourselves for the beauty of the Divinity and humanity of
my most holy Son? What excuse can those men give in the last judgment,
who have despised this ineffable love and blessing, which they had
always present in the holy Church, ready to fill them with the plenitude
of gifts, and who rather sought diversion in worldly pleasures and
attended upon the outward and deceitful vanities of this earthly life?
Be thou amazed at this insanity as were the holy angels, and guard
thyself against falling into the same error.

Because all the beauty of my soul is imprinted within me.
I am a host in Your hand, O Divine Priest,

I am totally dependent on Your will, O Lord
Because it is the delight and adornment of my soul.
I am like a white host in Your hand, O God,
I implore You, transform me into Yourself.
May I be wholly hidden in You,
Locked in Your merciful Heart as in Heaven.

May the wafer of my body hide me from human eye;

my own misery? Misery is my possession.
O wound of mercy, Heart of Jesus, hide me in Your depths as a drop of Your
own blood, and do not let me out forever! Lock me in your depths, and do You
yourself teach me to love You! Eternal Love, do You yourself form my soul
that it be make capable of returning Your love. O living Love, enable me to
love You forever, I yearn to eternally reciprocate Your love. O Christ, a
single gaze from You is dearer to me than a thousand worlds, than all heaven
itself. Lord, You can make my soul capable of understanding completely who
You are. I know and I believe that You can do all things; if you have
deigned to give Yourself to me so generously, then I know that You can be
even more generous. Bring me into an intimacy with You so far as it is
possible for human nature to be brought…

After
viewing the images in this website I no longer believe in abortion.
Abortion kills babies it is not a mass being removed from a woman’s
body. My grandson is a preemie five months old, his twin died. I saw
little feet as big as my grandsons. It hurt me deeply to see what I saw.
I thought about a close friend that had an abortion just because she was
irresponsible and couldn’t face her family.

I just saw
the pictures of the babies that were destroyed by abortions and I must
say that they are truly an inspiration for anyone who may be thinking of
an abortion. If these pictures don't change their mind, then God have
mercy on them. My heart went out to these lost babies and I only pray
that they are back home with our Blessed Lord where they belong.

First of
all, I thank God for you so He can use you! Though I was pro-life before
I found this site, I now feel that God might want to use me to fight
against abortion. On Tuesday, I am scheduled to give a speech in one of
my college classes, and I have chosen to persuade my classmates that
abortion is wrong and should be illegal, not only in this country but in
every country. I really appreciate the images of abortion you have
posted, which I will use during my speech. They have changed my life. I
hope and pray that they will change other lives as well. God Bless you

considered an abortion when I fell pregnant with my son, I visited your
website and was physically sick. Now when I see these images it makes me
hug my 8 month old precious baby boy a little bit harder. Please find
attached a photo of my son, who without yourselves would not be here.
I just
wanted to express how glad I am too have found many people that believe
in the same thing I do: abortion is murder. I didn’t realize it as much
until after I reviewed your website. I feel this website could change
many minds about abortion. Please keep doing a great job in showing

I have
always been against abortion. My friend and I are both moms returning to
school. She had to write a paper a persuasive paper and asked what she
should write about. I suggested abortion she was unsure how she felt
about the issue and said what about if you were raped... I told her that
if a person committed rape was apprehended and convicted he would not
receive the death penalty so why should the innocent child?? So I told
her to look at this website and then decide. We BOTH cried and she is
now 100% against abortion. She had no idea. How can we get people
involved? Teach them there are so many out there that don't know.
Whenever I feel down and am feeling sorry for myself I return to your
website and my self-pity disappears rather instantly. Keep up all your

My God, I
looked at the pictures of some of the abortions. It is horrific, sad and
heart breaking. It brought tears to my eyes. I couldn’t finish the
dumpster collection. I saw one. That was enough. I can’t believe it but
I looked at the salt abortions and then partial abortion. How in the
Lord’s name can anyone perform these abortions. I looked at partial
birth abortion but had to cover the page and go back. Do pro- choice
people see these pictures? Maybe they should hand them to them as we
mothers have our baby's pictures taken so proudly. I am a grandmother
and it just sickens me. My daughter has 4 boys. When I see them again I
will give them an extra kiss and hug and thank my daughter for having
these joyous children. God bless your work. Physically I am unable to
attend the march in 2005 but I’m sure there will be TV coverage.

at my computer in absolute shock at these images, and feeling tears run
down my face at all these children that never got a chance in life, I
realized one of two things, that 1. Abortion in any shape or form is
completely wrong and horrific, and 2. That I will never ever have an
abortion. This website has opened my eyes as I'm sure it has many

A friend
of mine recommended me to your site because I told her I was going to
have an abortion on this coming Friday. I couldn't help but to just
stare at the innocent babies that were killed. Just a couple of hours
ago I was saying to myself "I wish I can just get a sign to whether this
is a good idea or not". I am 3 months pregnant now and I am actually

I’m doing
a paper on abortion for a class. I never knew what happened to the baby
after an abortion has been done. I myself had an abortion and I did it
because I was too young to have a baby at the time but it’s something I
will never do again. It touched my heart to see those pictures. I now
have a two year old girl and and I can say she is God's gift to me. I’m
against abortions and I know those are some hard pictures to see but I’m
glad there shown maybe that will help stop abortions. I regret that I
had to have one but life must go on. It’s tough me to make better
choices and not to make the wrong choices.

want to say that this is the only site that I have been to that actually
SHOWS what an abortion is. I wrote to my local paper about abortion
before the election to try to get some votes in for Bush. I will pray
for everyone involved with your website and your movement. I wish I
could do more than pray and cry for those babies. What else can I do?
When I try to talk to people, they just ignore me saying that I don't
have the right to force my religion on me. It isn't all about religion!

the American people what an abortion is. Abortion is a reality which is
so horrific that
words alone can never convey its meaning.
Fr. Frank serves on the board
of the
Center for Bioethical Reform, which makes it a priority to share
with the nation the world's largest collection of images of actual
abortions. In conjunction with that organization, a
series of careful analyses of what the pro-life movement can learn
from other social reform movements is being prepared.
We present here some of the
grim reality of abortion. Only
seeing such images can bring us to the kind of indignation needed to
sustain the sacrifices that will be necessary to finally bring an end to
this injustice.
These images are arranged
according to the gestational age of the children who were killed. You
will note that below the link to each image is a link to a document
signed by a pathologist who attests to the medical accuracy that
particular image. Each document was also notarized. This pathologist,
Dr. Abigail Allen, worked specifically with the remains of aborted
children.
It is especially critical to
show people the images of babies aborted in the first trimester. It is
in regard to such children, who constitute 90% of abortion victims, that
the myth persists that they are not really children at all.
